FOOD ON BOARD

There is an unwritten rule that there is never enough food on board. There is a small, well-stocked supermarket near the ACI marina Šimuni, and on the island of Pag itself, in Novalja and the town of Pag, there are several larger supermarkets some 15 minutes away from the marina by car. If you want, you can send us a list of the groceries you want, so we can do the shopping for you and deliver the groceries to the ship before your arrival.

The refrigerator on the boat has a smaller capacity than the one you have at home, but it is spacious enough to hold enough food for several days. Our islands have shops where you can get the groceries you need.

RESTAURANTS

Most restaurants accept credit cards, but this is not the case on the islands. That’s why it’s good to have enough cash with you for such cases.

Croatian fish is a famous and delicious delicacy, but the price can be high. That’s why we advise you to check the price list before consumption.

Many restaurants on the islands have moorings on buoys. Most of them do not charge a mooring fee, but expect you to use the restaurant’s services if you are tied to their buoy. Such moorings are often full in the season, so it is good to make a reservation in advance.

EMBROIDERIES

The mooring fee varies from place to place, depending on whether it is low season or high season, length and service in a particular port or marina.

Prices in marinas and ports vary from €4-€13 per long meter of vessel.

All marinas have sanitary facilities, a reception, a restaurant, and often a supermarket. When you arrive at the marina, their staff will find your berth and take your documents to the reception.

Ports in places on the coast and islands provide a similar service as marinas, but on a smaller scale and at a cheaper price.

If bad weather is predicted, we advise you to find a mooring in the marina, because the marina has better protection.

After 2-3 days of sailing, it is good to spend a day in the marina, fill the water tanks, connect to the electricity and charge the batteries, possibly do the laundry…

When you are near the marina, announce your arrival on VHF channel 17. This is the working channel for all marinas on the Adriatic Sea.

You can check prices and availability of moorings online on each marina’s website.

BOVES

Mooring buoys are anchored in many bays. Prices for mooring on a buoy vary from €1-€7 per long meter of the vessel. It may happen that the concessionaire in the bay asks you to pay even though you are not using a buoy, but your own anchor. Because he is the concessionaire for that sea area, not the concessionaire for the number of buoys. But if you anchor outside the area where the buoys are located, i.e. outside the limits marked with yellow buoys, then you have no right to ask for payment.

The sailors who work at the buoy collection are usually very friendly and talkative, so you can learn a lot of useful information of a local nature from them.
